# CNC Milled Aluminum Motorcycle Linkage and Bicycle Stem

Category: Precision CNC Machined Parts
URL: https://www.machined-parts-factory.com/products/precision-cnc-machined-parts/cnc-milled-aluminum-motorcycle-linkage-and-bicycle-stem/

These are lightweight two-wheeler parts: motorcycle rear suspension linkages and dog bones, and bicycle stems, CNC milled from 6061 or 7075 aluminum. Pivot bearing bores, steerer and handlebar clamps and bolt holes are machined to tight fits. They are made for motorcycle and bicycle component brands that need strong, light parts with clean, anodized finishes in prototype or production quantities.

- Parallel pivot bores for smooth bearing operation
- Radiused edges to reduce fatigue cracking
- 7075-T6 or 6061-T6 aluminum
- Smooth clamp faces suitable for carbon bars

## How we make it
Linkages and stems are machined from billet on 3- and 5-axis mills. Bearing bores in linkages are bored in one setup so pivots stay parallel; misalignment would cause bearing wear and binding. Stem clamp bores are finish machined and the clamp slots cut afterward, then edges are radiused to remove stress risers that could crack under cyclic loads.

7075-T6 is used for highly stressed linkages and performance stems; 6061-T6 is common for general bicycle stems and anodizes in brighter colors. Shot peening is sometimes specified to improve fatigue life. Type II anodizing in black, silver or colors is typical, and logos can be laser engraved. Clamp surfaces should stay smooth to protect carbon handlebars.

Bore sizes, pivot spacing and clamp diameters are measured at first article with CMM and gauges, and critical fits are inspected on every part. Edges and surfaces are checked visually for tool marks before anodizing. Typical parts include rear shock linkages, dog bones, bicycle stems, top caps, chainring spiders and seatpost clamps for road, mountain and e-bikes.

## FAQ
### Are CNC machined bicycle stems safe?
Machined stems are widely used when designed and tested correctly. Safety depends on design, alloy choice, edge radii and testing to standards such as ISO 4210. We machine to your validated design with controlled tolerances and finishes; the brand is responsible for design approval and standards testing.

### How do you keep linkage bearing bores aligned?
Both pivot bores are machined in the same setup, using the same reference, so they stay parallel and at the correct spacing. We inspect bore size, spacing and parallelism on first articles with CMM and check bore sizes on every part with gauges.

### How do I get a quote for cnc milled aluminum motorcycle linkage and bicycle stem?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
