This is a custom CNC milled housing machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with sandblasting plus Type II anodizing. Pockets, bosses and bearing bores are cut on 3- and 4-axis machining centers, with critical features held down to ±0.01 mm. It is built for electronics, instrument and automation designers who need a rigid, good-looking enclosure without tooling costs.

- Uniform matte bead-blast texture under anodize
- Black, silver and custom anodize colors
- Bores and pockets down to ±0.01 mm
- Logo laser engraving after finishing

## How we make it
Housings start from plate or extruded bar and are roughed with high-feed cutters to leave even wall stock, then semi-finished and finished in separate passes so internal stress relieves before final size. Thin walls are machined in a staggered sequence to avoid chatter. Datum faces and bearing bores are cut in the same setup wherever the geometry allows, which keeps the mating features of lids and covers aligned.

Bead blasting before anodizing gives the uniform matte texture buyers expect on consumer and instrument housings and hides fine tool marks. Type II anodizing typically adds 5–25 µm, so tight bores are either masked or machined slightly oversize to compensate. 6061-T6 anodizes evenly and costs less than 7075; choose 7075 only when strength justifies it, because it anodizes with a slightly warmer tone. Laser engraving adds logos or labels after coating.

First articles are checked on CMM for bore positions and flatness of sealing faces, then the color is compared against an approved sample under consistent lighting. In production, critical dimensions are 100% inspected and threads are gauged after anodizing. These housings are commonly used for sensor heads, handheld devices, motor controllers, audio amplifiers and camera bodies.

## FAQ
### Will anodizing change the size of my bores?
Yes, slightly. Type II anodizing grows the surface by roughly half its coating thickness on each side, so a bore can shrink by around 0.01–0.02 mm. We either mask critical bores and threads or machine them oversize to land on the drawing dimension after coating.

### Can you match a specific anodize color?
We can match to a physical sample or a Pantone reference within the practical limits of anodizing dyes. Exact matches vary with alloy and blast texture, so we run a color sample on your material first and only start production after you approve it.

### How do I get a quote for sandblasted anodized 6061 aluminum cnc milled housing?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
