# CNC Fiber Laser Cut Aluminum and Stainless Steel Parts

Category: Sheet Metal Fabrication
URL: https://www.machined-parts-factory.com/products/sheet-metal-fabrication/cnc-fiber-laser-cut-aluminum-and-stainless-steel-parts/

This is a CNC fiber laser cutting service for flat parts in aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel sheet, cut directly from DXF or 3D files. Profiles hold about 0.05–0.10 mm, edges are deburred, and parts can be polished, painted or powder coated. It suits engineers and fabricators who need gaskets, plates, brackets, signs and blanks without tooling, from one piece upward.

- Nitrogen-cut edges, oxide-free on stainless
- Nested cutting to reduce material waste
- Cut directly from DXF with no tooling
- Optional bending, welding or machining after cutting

## How we make it
Fiber lasers focus a high-power beam to melt the sheet while assist gas blows the kerf clear. Nitrogen gives clean, oxide-free edges on stainless and aluminum, ready for welding or coating; oxygen cuts carbon steel faster but leaves an oxide layer. Parts are nested to minimize scrap, and small tabs hold them in the skeleton until removal. Fine features down to roughly the sheet thickness are achievable.

Aluminum reflects laser energy, so it is cut with fiber sources that handle reflective metals. Stainless 304 cuts cleanly with nitrogen and keeps its corrosion resistance. Carbon steel is the most economical and usually needs powder coat or paint. Heat-affected zones are narrow but can slightly harden edges. If edges must be bright and smooth, light grinding or tumbling follows cutting.

Cut parts are checked against the DXF with calipers and vision systems at first article, and edges inspected for dross. Critical dimensions are 100% verified before shipping. Finished parts can be bent, welded or machined further. Common uses include mounting plates, decorative screens, gaskets, nameplates, machine blanks and drone or robot chassis plates.

## FAQ
### What file do I need for laser cutting?
A 2D DXF or DWG at 1:1 scale is ideal, with material and thickness noted. We can also work from STEP files of bent parts and unfold them. A PDF drawing showing tolerances, quantities and finishes helps us quote accurately.

### Is laser cutting accurate enough for precision holes?
Laser-cut holes are typically within about 0.05–0.10 mm and have a small taper. For bearing fits, dowel holes or tapped holes, we laser cut undersize and finish by drilling, reaming or tapping to achieve tighter tolerance.

### How do I get a quote for cnc fiber laser cut aluminum and stainless steel parts?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
