Laser Cut and Bent Stainless Steel Electrical Enclosure
This is a custom electrical enclosure, junction box or control cabinet made from stainless steel or aluminum sheet by laser cutting, CNC bending and welding. Doors, gasket flanges, mounting plates and cable-entry cutouts are built to your layout, with ±0.05 mm on machined features. It suits panel builders, EV-charger makers and outdoor-equipment OEMs who need non-standard enclosure sizes.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for laser cut and bent stainless steel electrical enclosure.
Enclosure bodies are bent from one blank where possible to minimize seams, then corners are TIG welded and ground for a continuous, sealable shell. Door flanges are folded to create a gasket channel, and hinges, latches and earth studs are attached by welding or press-in hardware. Internal mounting plates and DIN rails are laid out from your drawing. Cable glands and vents are cut by laser.
304 stainless suits indoor washdown and most outdoor sites; 316 is better near the coast or in chemical plants. Aluminum is lighter and dissipates heat well but should be powder coated or anodized outdoors. Brushed stainless needs no paint, while powder-coated finishes allow RAL colors. Sealing performance depends on gasket choice and flange flatness, both of which we review with your target rating.
Assembled enclosures are checked for door gaps, flange flatness and overall dimensions, and earth continuity is tested between door and body. If an IP rating is targeted, water or dust testing can be arranged to your procedure, though we do not certify ratings ourselves. Typical uses include control cabinets, EV charger housings, junction boxes, battery cabinets and outdoor telecom boxes.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you build an enclosure to a specific IP rating?
We can design and fabricate enclosures with features intended for your target IP rating, such as continuous welds, folded gasket channels and suitable gaskets, and arrange water or dust testing to your procedure. Formal IP certification must be obtained through an accredited test lab.
Stainless or aluminum for an outdoor enclosure?
Stainless 304 or 316 is tougher, resists impact and needs no coating, making it common for coastal and industrial sites. Aluminum is lighter and sheds heat better but should be powder coated outdoors. For battery or charger cabinets, heat dissipation often favors aluminum.
