3/4/5-Axis CNC Machined Brass and Aluminum Manifold Block
This is a custom fluid or pneumatic manifold block machined on 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC centers from brass, 6061 aluminum or stainless steel. Cross-drilled galleries, valve cavities and threaded ports are cut to drawing with critical features at 0.01–0.05 mm. It is for hydraulic, pneumatic and process-equipment designers who need compact, leak-free routing in one solid block.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for 3/4/5-axis cnc machined brass and aluminum manifold block.
Manifolds are mostly deep drilling. We use gun-drill or long-series carbide drills with through-coolant to keep long galleries straight, and spot each hole first for position. 4- and 5-axis indexing reaches every face of the block in fewer setups, which keeps gallery intersections accurate. Cartridge valve cavities are produced with form tools to standard profiles, then plug ports are threaded and the block is deburred internally.
Aluminum 6061 is light and economical for pneumatic and low-pressure hydraulic manifolds and can be anodized for corrosion protection. Brass handles water and air well and machines very fast, which suits complex drilling. Stainless 316 is chosen for corrosive or hygienic media. Finish choices follow function: hard anodize for wear on aluminum, nickel plating on brass, and passivation on stainless.
Gallery intersections are checked with a borescope for burrs, and port positions are verified on CMM at first article. Threads are gauged, and critical dimensions receive 100% inspection. Leak or pressure testing can be arranged to your specification. Typical uses include pneumatic valve manifolds, hydraulic power-unit blocks, coolant distribution blocks and gas panel manifolds.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which material is best for a hydraulic manifold?
For moderate hydraulic pressures, 6061 or 7075 aluminum is light and economical. For high pressure, steel or ductile alloys are usually specified, and for corrosive or hygienic fluids, 316 stainless. Brass suits water and air systems. Share your working pressure and fluid so we can advise.
How do you prevent burrs inside drilled galleries?
Every intersection is planned in CAM so drills break through cleanly, then back-deburring tools and brushes clear the edges. We inspect each intersection with a borescope at first article and on sample parts in production. Blocks are washed and blown out before packing.
