5-Axis CNC Machined Drone and EV Aluminum Components
These are 5-axis CNC machined parts shared across drone, UAV and electric vehicle programs: motor mounts, gimbal arms, battery brackets, inverter housings and suspension links. We machine them from 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminum, stainless steel and alloy steel under an ISO 9001 quality system. They are intended for engineering teams moving from prototypes to low-volume production.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for 5-axis cnc machined drone and ev aluminum components.
Drone and EV parts both reward low weight and accurate interfaces. Using 5-axis machining, we reach angled motor faces, pockets on several sides and blended contours in one or two setups. For turned features such as motor shafts and bushings, we use CNC lathes, and mixed parts go to turn-mill centers. Tolerances of 0.005–0.01 mm are reserved for bearing seats and locating pins.
7075-T6 aluminum gives the best strength-to-weight for drone arms and motor mounts; 6061-T6 is better for brackets that may be welded or bent. Stainless steel is used for fasteners and EV components exposed to moisture, and 4140 for high-stress links. Finishes include brushing, Type II or hard anodizing, powder coating and nickel or zinc electroplating.
First-article inspection covers all drawing dimensions, and critical features are measured on every part before shipment using CMM and gauges. Material certificates and inspection reports are available on request. Typical applications include multirotor motor mounts, fixed-wing UAV servo brackets, EV battery tray brackets, charging-port housings and steering linkages for light electric vehicles.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle both prototypes and production for drone parts?
Yes. MOQ is one piece, so we can machine a few prototypes, then run low- and mid-volume batches once the design is fixed. Keeping the same process and fixtures from prototype to production helps preserve the dimensions you already validated.
What tolerance is realistic for a drone motor mount?
General features are held at ±0.05 mm. Motor bolt circles, bearing seats and locating bores can be held down to about ±0.005–0.01 mm, depending on size and material. Tighter tolerances add inspection time, so we suggest applying them only where fit really depends on it.
How do I get a quote for 5-axis cnc machined drone and ev aluminum components?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
