How we make this part

Cages and plates are milled from aluminum plate with arrays of tapped holes, slots and lightening pockets, and Arca-Swiss style dovetails are cut with form cutters. Rod clamps are bored to standard rod diameters, such as 15 mm, and slit for clamping. Thumb screws and knurled nuts are turned from brass or stainless and knurled for grip.
6061-T6 aluminum is the standard: light, strong and easy to anodize in matte black, which reduces reflections on set. 7075 is used for thin, high-stress clamps. Brass thumb nuts resist wear and can be nickel plated; stainless screws offer strength. Sandblasting before anodizing gives a uniform matte finish. Laser engraving adds logos and scale markings.
Thread fit is checked with gauges for 1/4-20 and 3/8-16, dovetail dimensions with fixtures, and finishes for color consistency. Critical dimensions are inspected on each lot. What finish do camera accessories usually use?
