CNC Machined Aluminum UAV Components for Drone Builders
These are CNC machined metal components for drones and UAVs, mainly in 6061 and 7075 aluminum, including motor mounts, arm clamps, landing gear fittings, gimbal brackets and camera plates. Parts are milled to the drone builder's drawing and anodized. They serve UAV startups, research teams and drone brands that need lightweight, accurate parts in prototype and production quantities.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc machined aluminum uav components for drone builders.
Drone parts are mostly thin plates and clamps with many holes and lightening pockets. They are milled on 3- and 5-axis machines, with thin webs finished last to prevent distortion. Motor bolt patterns and arm clamp bores are machined in one setup for alignment. Carbon fiber plates can be CNC cut alongside metal parts for full frame kits.
7075-T6 aluminum is preferred for arm clamps and motor mounts because of its strength-to-weight ratio. 6061-T6 suits lower-stressed covers and brackets. Titanium Grade 5 is used for small, highly loaded fittings. Type II anodizing in black or colors adds 5–25 µm and protects against corrosion; hard anodizing improves wear on clamp surfaces. Laser marking adds part numbers.
Hole patterns, bore sizes and thin-section thicknesses are checked at first article and on critical features before shipment. Parts are weighed if weight targets are specified. Typical parts include motor mounts, folding arm hinges, battery trays, gimbal mounts, payload release mechanisms and landing gear brackets for multirotor, fixed-wing and VTOL aircraft at the prototype and production stage.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you machine both carbon fiber and aluminum drone parts?
Yes. Carbon fiber plates are CNC cut with diamond-coated tools and dust extraction, and aluminum parts are milled in the same order. Supplying both together helps make sure hole patterns between plates and fittings match. Carbon fiber edges can be sanded and sealed to reduce fraying.
How light can a machined aluminum drone part be?
It depends on loads, but pockets, thin webs around 1 mm and 7075 alloy can cut weight substantially compared with solid parts. We machine to your design and can point out walls that may chatter or distort. Weight targets on the drawing let us check each part.
How do I get a quote for cnc machined aluminum uav components for drone builders?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
