Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc milled 7075 aluminum aerospace and industrial parts.
Thin-walled, pocketed parts are machined with balanced roughing on both sides to control residual stress, leaving finishing stock before final passes. High-speed machining strategies keep cutting forces low. Parts with features on many faces use 5-axis machines. Deburring and edge breaking are done consistently, as sharp edges can start fatigue cracks in high-strength alloys.
7075-T6 has very high strength, around 500 MPa yield, but lower corrosion resistance, so it is usually anodized or chemically protected. 2024 offers good fatigue resistance and is often used in structural fittings. Titanium Grade 5 provides strength and corrosion resistance at higher temperatures. Anodizing (Type II or III), chemical conversion coating and painting are typical finishes.
Dimensions are measured with CMM against the model, and full inspection reports and material certificates can be supplied. Critical dimensions are 100% inspected before shipment under ISO 9001 procedures. Typical parts include UAV structural fittings, ground support equipment brackets, test fixture plates, satellite ground station parts, and industrial machine frames that need high strength-to-weight ratios.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do you supply flight-critical aerospace parts?
Our quality system is ISO 9001. We supply parts for UAVs, ground support equipment, test fixtures and industrial applications. Flight-critical parts that require AS9100 or specific aerospace approvals should be discussed in advance so requirements and documentation are clear before quoting.
How do you prevent distortion in thin 7075 parts?
We rough both sides in stages to balance stress release, leave finishing stock, allow parts to relax and then finish in light passes. Fixtures support thin areas, and machining sequences are planned to avoid unsupported walls. Stress-relieved plate such as T651 also helps.
How do I get a quote for cnc milled 7075 aluminum aerospace and industrial parts?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
