Laser Cut Stainless Steel Mounting Plates and Gussets
These are stainless steel and aluminum mounting plates, base plates, gussets, flanges and reinforcing brackets made by laser cutting, with bending and welding where the design requires. Finishes include powder coating, anodizing, plating and painting. Cut features hold 0.05–0.10 mm. They are for structural, equipment and installation engineers needing strong, accurate plates delivered quickly.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for laser cut stainless steel mounting plates and gussets.
Thicker plates are laser cut with settings chosen for edge squareness, as taper increases with thickness. Bolt holes that must align with anchors or structural members can be finished by drilling for straighter walls. Gussets are cut, then welded in fixtures to base plates or posts with fillet welds sized to the drawing. Edges are deburred and corners rounded where people will handle the parts.
Stainless 304 resists outdoor corrosion and needs no coating, making it common for exposed mounts and marine fittings; 316 adds chloride resistance. Aluminum plates are lighter for portable equipment and can be anodized. Carbon-steel alternatives cost less but must be galvanized or coated. Weld heat tint on stainless is removed by pickling or brushing to restore corrosion resistance.
Plates are measured for flatness, hole positions and overall size at first article, and welded assemblies are checked for squareness. Weld appearance is inspected visually. Critical dimensions are 100% verified before shipment. Typical uses include equipment base plates, solar mount gussets, motor mounting plates, column flanges and marine deck plates.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How thick a stainless plate can you laser cut?
We laser cut stainless and aluminum across common plate thicknesses used for brackets and base plates. Edge taper and cut speed change with thickness, so for very thick plate we may combine laser cutting with machining. Send the thickness and drawing for confirmation.
Should base plate holes be laser cut or drilled?
For clearance holes, laser cutting is accurate enough and cheaper. For tight-fit holes, reamed dowels or holes in thick plate where taper matters, we laser cut undersize and then drill or ream to size for straight, accurate walls.
How do I get a quote for laser cut stainless steel mounting plates and gussets?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
